Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal/Senior Principal Mission Assurance Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be onsite in Melbourne, FL. You will directly support the Mission Assurance Program Manager (MAPM) by executing and overseeing quality first technical support, independent of Engineering, through early intervention. Support a mission assurance team during the program development phase. Provide design development and integration efforts to drive process adherence during the FSD phase. Deliver focused efforts in receiving, product evaluation and testing, flight operations, research and development as they apply to the mission assurance statement of work.
Deliver product development and integration through oversight of lab processes, procedures and standard adherence; ensuring product continuously meets customer requirements during test and evaluation. Drive lab compliance via lab audits, test readiness reviews, test setup verification and test procedure validation; delivering testing process mechanisms, systems integration, configuration verification and requirements verification. Participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) while holding program accountable for nonconforming processes and/or product. Review all necessary product and system documentation to ensure process compliance and requirement needs are met during all phases of testing. Plan and develop required quality processes to identify product performance impacts as early as possible during the testing cycle.
Execute statement of work through review and understanding of Customer Data Requirements Lists, Supplier Data Requirements Lists, Acceptance Test Procedures, Qualification Test Procedures, Bench Test Procedures, Receiving Audits and Program Specifications. High level organizational skills, test and development knowledge and strong computer skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Atlassian tools are a must.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver fact-based decision points on program laboratories to MA leadership through audits, metrics and reviews.
• Ensure product qualification and integration through various support of program laboratories.
• Collaborate with manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to laboratory and manufacturing standards.
• Execute to budget through cost oversight tools from cost and planning team
• Collaborate with inspection, software and supplier quality teams to drive quality into the design to ensure robust verification and validation processes.
• Participate/Facilitate root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations to address laboratory non-compliance, ensuring effective resolution and continuous improvement.
• When needed execute non-conformance processing from initiate to disposition and collaborate with internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
Principal Mission Assurance Engineer:
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 Years experience in Engineering and/or quality background with heavy lab and testing environment support/oversight ; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD
- Experience in engineering with product development, testing and integration.
- High level aptitude and knowledge in lab operations and testing environments
- Competence in AS9100 nonconforming material processes
- Accomplished process improvement involving Lean Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis processes.
Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer:
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
