Job Description:
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the maintenance and restoration of a variety of surfaces and products, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards. This position requires a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.

Primary Level Salary Range: $35.01 - $35.01
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the maintenance and restoration of a variety of surfaces and products, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards. This position requires a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluation and Inspection: Evaluate and inspect used items from the field, detailing what work needs to be done. Assess threads, holes, countersinks, paint erosion, and coatings for condition and serviceability. Use repair instructions, MIL-Standards, and blueprints to evaluate parts and verify serviceability.
- Repair Recommendations and Estimates: Detail the scope of work required for each item based on evaluations, providing clear recommendations for repairs needed to restore items to optimal working condition. Give estimates as required to facilitate repairs.
- Repair and Painting: Install various inserts or helical coils into properly prepared holes in accordance with MIL Standards. Restore minor surface damage to products. Properly mix primers/paints and apply paint mechanical items according to drawings and specifications. Use fixtures, assembly aides, and stencils as required to support product assembly and repair.
- Documentation and Reporting: Manage job details and document all repair actions on appropriate paperwork. Maintain accurate records of repair work conducted, including procedures followed, materials used, and recommendations for future maintenance. Prepare reports for management review.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work well with others and communicate effectively with leadership and engineering teams regarding repairs, work scope, and any challenges or modifications needed to improve product durability or serviceability.
- Quality Assurance and Material Management: Implement quality control measures throughout the repair and painting process to ensure compliance with organizational standards and client expectations. Assist in monitoring overhead material supplies, identify shortages, and comply with tool control programs.
- Safety Compliance and Workplace Standards: Follow all workplace health and safety rules, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as hearing protection, Tyvek painter suits, and respirators. Maintain a clean and tidy work area, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement in all repairs and processes.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical and hands-on experience.
- Willing to learn and self-motivated.
- Great attention to detail, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
- Strong communication skills; must be able to communicate technical terms and articulate issues.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to sit and stand while working.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a repair and paint technician or in a related field.
- Familiarity with military standards and technical evaluation processes is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of repair techniques, painting processes, and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and other departments.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
