Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a V2X Systems Engineer to join high-impact a high - impact engineering team advancing next - generation transportation technologies . This role is located in McLean, VA through 100% full onsite presence . The V2X Systems Engineer will lead simulation, testing & evaluation of connected vehicle technologies, develop system requirements & test plans, and support the integration of hardware & software-in-the-loop environments that advance transportation research & real-world deployments.

Responsibilities of the V2X Systems Engineer include:
- Lead simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), and field testing of V2X, CAV, & connected infrastructure systems, including planning, execution, & analysis
- Define system requirements, performance metrics, & test procedures while managing schedules, resources, & risk for multi-phase test campaigns
- Investigate, develop, & evaluate emerging transportation technologies, including sensors, automation components, & distributes testing tools in both la & real-world environments
- Serve as a technical liaison with customers & project teams, communicating insights, presenting results, & ensuring milestone alignment
- Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, guide daily technical activities, & ensure high-quality system performance & documentation
- Lead the development of simulation, virtualization, & distributed testing solutions to accelerate technology maturation & deployment readiness
Qualifications of the V2X Systems Engineer include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in simulation & testing
- 5+ years of experience leading tests or projects involving test plan development, execution, & performance evaluation
- 5+ years of experience with HIL/SIL systems, simulation environments, & testing methodologies
- Proficiency scripting in Python, Bash & SQL, with experience testing software in a Linux environment
- Working knowledge of systems engineering practices, quality assurance, & Agile tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Active Public Trust clearance
Compensation for the V2X Systems Engineer includes:
- Salary: $95,000-$125,000 **depending on experience**
