Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Transportation Data Scientist to join high-impact a high - impact team applying AI/ML to transform safety, freight, and mobility outcomes . This role is located in McLean, VA through 100% full onsite presence . The Transportation Data Engineer will design, build, and evaluate AI/ML models using multimodal transportation data to advance mobility and transportation safety.

Responsibilities of the Transportation Data Scientist include:
- Design, develop & deploy AI/ML models for transportation use cases
- Build & integrate multi-source datasets addressing data quality issues
- Evaluate model performance & robustness & provide recommendations to improve scalability, reliability & trustworthiness
- Engage stakeholders via workshops/briefings, translate needs into roadmaps, proposals, & implementation strategies
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align with federal objectives, contribute to technical reports, monthly progress, risk mitigation & iterative model refinement
Qualifications of the Transportation Data Scientist include:
- Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science, AI, EE, Transportation Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of professional data science/ML experience
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy & applied AI techniques
- Proven ETL/data integration with multimodal data, experience managing data quality in production-style workflows
- Strong model evaluation skills & testing under variable data conditions
- Active Public Trust clearance
Compensation for the Transportation Data Scientist includes:
- Salary: $95,000-$130,000 **depending on experience**
