Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Transportation Operations & Safety Engineer to join high-impact engineering team building next-generation intelligent systems reshaping the future of mobility and automation. This role is located in fully remote . The Transportation Operations & Safety Engineer will lead & manage complex, multi-disciplinary transportation safety & operations programs while providing technical leadership, client engagement & strategic guidance across data-driven research & project initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Transportation Operations & Safety Engineer include:
- Lead & manage transportation safety, operations, & data research programs, serving as program manager & primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors & internal teams
- Provide technical leadership on transportation safety, roadway operations, TSMO strategies, & safety countermeasure research across project lifecycles
- Conduct & oversee safety & operational analyses, infrastructure reviews, & road safety audits, recommending improvements aligned with best practices & performance standards
- Develop & maintain project plans, schedules, budgets & deliverables, ensuring quality, timeliness & contract compliance
- Support proposal development & business growth, including leading technical sections, bid strategy, labor estimates & building strategic client relationships
Qualifications of the Transportation Operations & Safety Engineer include:
- Master's Degree (or higher) in Transportation, Civil, or Systems Engineering or a related field
- 12+ years of experience managing transportation research, safety, operations, or data-driven programs
- Strong experience collaborating with transportation agencies & applying transportation research methods, safety analysis tools & TSMO principles
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects, budgets, deliverables, contract compliance & client relationships
- Active Public Trust clearance
Compensation for the Transportation Operations & Safety Engineer includes:
- Salary: $120,000-$155,000 **depending on experience**
