The Lockheed Martin Space Mission Integration team seeks an RF engineer to provide project and technical leadership on a dynamic team of Strategic Operations Research Analysts in Littleton, CO. This team provides physics-based technical analysis to identify and validate the viability of future satellite constellations while also assisting in the design of next generation system-of-system architectures in support of national security, commercial, and civil mission areas.
In this role you will apply RF and payload expertise to develop and analyze RF system architectures to support proposals, studies, trades, and programs to optimize existing efforts and facilitate new business for Lockheed Martin Space. The position will conduct analysis in support of client deliverables, develop related analytical tools, and provide RF and mission area technical mentorship to junior personnel.
A strong background of systems thinking and RF expertise is required for this position. This includes link budget analysis and optimization, developing RF system functional and performance requirements, performing technical trades for RF systems and components, and supporting life cycle availability and reliability analysis from a mission perspective. An ideal candidate will possess an RF engineering background, have an ability to and interest in learning skills outside of RF, be willing to think outside the box, and be skilled at analysis to creatively solve the most challenging and dynamic problems in the space mission area.
Key duties will include:
• Conducting RF and other mission essential analysis for proposals, studies, trades, and programs.
• Act as client-facing lead for projects in the national security space and other mission area.
• Plan and execute analysis efforts in coordination with internal and external clients.
• Enthusiastically participate in the technical growth of junior engineers and analysts.
• Utilize your creativity and problem solving skills to think outside the box and address novel technical challenges.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field
• Familiar with RF principles and orbital mechanics
• Experience developing tools and performing spacecraft mission analysis using MATLAB
• Experience using Systems Tool Kit (STK)
• Experience collaborating with senior customers and stakeholders
• Must have an active Top Secret clearance prior to start (with a current investigation or CV date) and be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
Desired Skills:
• Master's degree with strong Math, Physics, and/or Statistics background.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with antenna design (feeds, reflectors, phased arrays, etc.).
• Experience with state estimation and geolocation analysis.
• Experience managing projects, often in ambiguous situations.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully between multiple engineering disciplines.
• Experience in the national security space and related mission areas.
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills from a systems perspective.
• Strong communications and teamwork skills.
• Unbridled enthusiasm the broader space and national security mission area.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
