Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Patrol in Columbus, GA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading aero and defense location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and support site teams with a service-focused approach. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting evacuations, access restrictions, and notifications as directed by site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, manufacturing and office areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or irregular conditions.
- Control access by checking identification, authorizations, and visitor logs, and by directing employees, contractors, and deliveries according to site requirements.
- Complete incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity documentation, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- CPR certification preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
