Baer is looking for an AFLOAT Functional Analyst for a 4+ month Federal remote project.

Rate: Hourly Plus Expenses Reimbursed
Alignment: W2 or C2C (vendors not permitted)

Project Overview:
Our client is leading the technical upgrade of their critical Financial and Procurement systems for a major branch of the Department of Defense (DoD), transitioning from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA. The project focuses on a fit-to-standard approach, minimizing customizations and aligning with S/4 HANA's standard configuration. Key efforts include defining requirements for the upgrade and supporting business process re-engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a functional subject matter expert for Navy AFLOAT Food Services and subsistence operations.
• Analyze and document end-to-end AFLOAT food service business processes, from demand planning and requisitioning through consumption, inventory, and financial settlement.
• Support and/or configure SAP S/4HANA logistics processes for subsistence, including Inventory Management and related master data.
• Ensure alignment of AFLOAT Food Services processes with NAVSUP policies, cataloging, sourcing, allowance management, and audit requirements.
• Support integration across Procurement (MM), Finance (FI), and Controlling (CO), including requisition-to-invoice and financial postings.
• Lead requirements workshops and develop process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios.
• Support testing, deployment, and operational readiness activities.

Requirements:

• Skilled Navy AFLOAT Food Services functional expert with deep understanding of afloat galley and food service operations, organizational structures, and subsistence materiel flow across Fleet units, SSAs, hubs, and shore commands.
• Strong knowledge of subsistence requisitioning, receiving, stowage, issue/consumption, inventory controls, returns, and financial accountability in operational environments.
• Experience or strong understanding of how NAVSUP supports and integrates with AFLOAT Food Service and Supply operations, including policy, cataloging, sourcing, allowance management, and auditability.
• Deep understanding of subsistence valuation and financial accountability in Navy ERP and SAP S/4HANA, including moving average/standard price concepts, inventory adjustments, spoilage/waste, gains/losses, and financial traceability.
• Demonstrated expertise in Plan-to-Consume / Procure-to-Pay processes for AFLOAT Food Services.
• Hands-on experience supporting or configuring SAP S/4HANA logistics for subsistence scenarios, including plants, storage locations, purchasing organizations/groups, and master data (materials, vendors, source lists, info records).
• Experience integrating AFLOAT Food Services with SAP MM, FI, and CO processes.
• Ability to translate operational requirements into system design, documentation, and testable solutions.
