Job Title: SAP S/4HANA FICO & Profitability Consultant – Logistics & Distribution

JOB SUMMARY:
Genesis Consulting is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking SAP S/4HANA FICO & Profitability Consultant with a passion for growth and business transformation. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong Finance and Controlling experience to join our team and work closely with a Commercial Healthcare Logistics Client.
As the S4HANA FICO & Profitability Consultant, you will design S4 FICO solutions to support profitability and cost transparency for healthcare logistics services, including transportation, warehousing, and value-added services across a global distribution network.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Define FI/CO structures (company codes, controlling areas, cost centers, profit centers) that mirror hubs, DCs, transportation networks, and customer segments.
· Implement account-based CO-PA to analyze profitability by customer, lane, mode, service type (transport, storage, cold-chain), and region.
· Configure integration of SD, MM, and logistics (e.g., TM/EWM where relevant) into FI/CO to capture true cost-to-serve (line-haul, last-mile, facility costs, accessorials).
· Support cost allocation models for cross-dock, consolidation, hub operations, and overhead associated with compliance/quality for healthcare logistics.
· Lead finance and controlling aspects of the S/4HANA conversion, including reconciliation and validation of P&L and balance sheet for logistics entities.
· Enable financial and management reporting for route profitability, customer margin, and network efficiency using S/4HANA Universal Journal and analytics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
· 8+ years in SAP FI/CO with 3+ end-to-end S/4HANA projects (conversions preferred), including Universal Journal (ACDOCA) implementation.
· Expertise in FI modules: New GL, AR/AP, Asset Accounting, intercompany processing, and multi-GAAP consolidation.
· Advanced knowledge of CO modules: cost center accounting, internal orders, product costing, and account-based CO-PA for service profitability analysis.
· Proven experience integrating logistics/SD revenues and MM expenditures into FI/CO for accurate cost-to-serve and margin reporting.
· Hands-on data migration and reconciliation experience for financial master data and transactional data in S/4HANA conversions.
· Finance experience in transportation/logistics, 3PL providers, or distribution networks handling regulated products.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience modeling freight revenue recognition, accrual accounting for transportation services, and logistics cost allocations.
· Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for pharma/medical device logistics operations.
· Proficiency in SAP Fiori analytics, SAC, or embedded analytics for P&L by customer/route/service.
· Knowledge of tax engines (Vertex/SABRIX) for international freight and logistics services.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
· SAP and/or S/4HANA certifications preferred.
