You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Maintaining digital recording and call check systems. 2) Retrieving and maintaining digital files required for evidence or investigative purposes. 3) Writing policy or procedures and informing employees of changes in policy and operating procedures. 4) Supervising and directing use of emergency protocol for fire, police, and medical emergencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

- Makes recommendations for equipment maintenance and upgrades, supplies, and orders needed forms and equipment.
- Ensures emergency medical dispatching assistance is provided to callers with medical emergencies using the emergency medical dispatch systems of Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall and the municipalities in the local region.
- Maintains required dispatch certifications and passwords required of dispatch personnel.
- Orients new employees to the Directorate of Emergency Services and division policies.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is subject to shift work where the incumbent is required to work an alternate, rotating work schedule, which requires an uncommon tour of duty (including nights, weekends and holidays).
- Incumbent is required to work (mission essential) regardless of weather conditions or base closure and to report to the duty station at the regularly scheduled time.
- Incumbent may be required to wear a uniform.
- Incumbent must pass a pre-employment; fingerprint based criminal history investigation for any location that accesses Criminal Justice Information Systems.
- The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain certification in: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Emergency Medical Dispatch based on the program standards at the location assigned.
- Incumbent must complete the Department of Defense Telecommunicator I and II or equivalent based on the program standards at the location assigned.
- Incumbent must complete State National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification based on assigned location.
- The incumbent is responsible for attaining continuing dispatch education (CDE) requirements through in-service training that is offered locally and pass in accordance with predetermined course requirements.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Defense Hazardous Awareness or equivalent training for IS-100 (Introduction to the Incident Command System).
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Defense Hazardous Awareness or equivalent training for IS-200 (ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents).
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Defense Hazardous Awareness or equivalent training for IS-700 (Introduction to National Incident Management System).
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Department of Defense Hazardous Awareness or equivalent training for IS-800 (Introduction to National Response Framework).
- This position is subject to call back, on-call and mandatory overtime as the mission requires.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
