Piper Companies is seeking a Consulting Network Engineer to provide advanced enterprise networking support within the defense industry. The Consulting Network Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-level consulting, architecture, and hands-on engineering across routing, switching, SDA, SD-WAN, and security technologies for a mission-critical DoD customer environment. Most be local to Hawaii.
Responsibilities of the Consulting Network Engineer:
• Deliver advanced consulting and engineering support for enterprise routing, switching, SDA, SD-WAN, and security technologies.
• Provide on-site technical guidance and troubleshooting at customer locations across Oahu.
• Engage directly with DoD customer stakeholders to assess requirements and design secure, scalable network solutions.
• Support architecture, deployment, and optimization of Cisco enterprise networking platforms.
• Travel occasionally to international customer sites to support project delivery and implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure alignment with DoD networking standards and security practices.
Qualifications of the Consulting Network Engineer:
• US citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Cisco Enterprise Networking certifications, preferably CCNP and/or CCIE.
• 10+ years of IT consulting experience with strong enterprise network engineering expertise.
• Demonstrated background supporting DoD or other federal environments.
• Hands-on experience with SDA, SD-WAN, and related security technologies.
• Resident of Oahu and able to work on site at customer locations 4-5 days per week.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to foreign countries for customer engagements.
Compensation for the Consulting Network Engineer includes:
• Salary range:$140,000-$170,000
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
• Full-time on-site schedule
