Position: Space Force - Software Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, test, and deploy software components for SDA ground operational systems.
- Develop robust APIs and services; create unit/integration tests and automate validation.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines; apply GitOps, automation, configuration management, and infrastructure?as?code.
- Containerize applications and orchestrate services with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security to meet performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
- Author technical documentation (architecture, interfaces, runbooks) and contribute to readiness reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related STEM field and 2+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 6 months of experience.
- Agile / Scaled Agile experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Python and Java; strong understanding of API design, testing, and management.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles (CI/CD, automation, IaC), cloud platforms (AWS; Azure a plus).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Understanding of security best practices (risk/compliance, vulnerability management, encryption/PKI, auditing/monitoring).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Clearance Requirements:
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
