Amentum is seeking a Part-Time Video/Training Product Narration Expert to support our program in Groton, CT. This position involves intermittent, on-demand narration services for the U.S. Navy, estimated at 15 weeks per year. Flexibility is required to accommodate surges beyond this estimate.
What You'll Do:
The selected candidate will read narration from printed scripts very similar to the type of narration used with Computer-Based Training Products available online. The training is primarily developed for the U.S. Submarine Force and contains a multitude of acronyms that the candidate will need to pronounce accurately as required by the end customer. Amentum will have recording materials and equipment for the candidate to use. Due to the sensitive nature of U.S. Navy vessel operations, 99% of the content will have to be recorded at the Amentum office located in Groton, CT.
The Groton Office is utilized by many Amentum employees, most working early hours to support nearby shipyard work schedules, typically 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It is often best to do recording work after 2:00 pm for 1 to 3 hours, when recording is required. Much of this work is classified up to SECRET and the employee will have to adhere to the guidance for acquiring and maintaining the SECRET clearance which includes, but is not limited to initial and annual training, participating in inspections, and completing forms and background checks as required by the U.S. Government. Note: If needed, the selected candidate may start work prior to having an interim Secret US government clearance granted.)

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Acting, Broadcasting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to complete all initial and annual training as required.
- Ability to participate in inspections, and completing forms and background checks as required.
- Must possess excellent reading skills, accuracy with technical acronyms.
- Experience recording, specifically for technical, military, or e-learning, with a focus on script reading and pronunciation accuracy.
- Studio Experience: Experience with voice recording software (Amentum will provide equipment).
- Availability for recording after 2:00 PM for an anticipated duration of 1-3 hours when recording is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of professional recording services.
- Active Secret US government clearance preferred.
- Former military (specifically Navy/Submarine Force) with training experience.
- Instructional designers or technical writers with voice-over skills.
