Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) Is actively seeking an Action Officer to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) Director's Officer (DIRO) Leadership.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Serve as an Action Officer for the Director's Office (DIRO) at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), providing high-level operational and executive support in a fast-paced environment
2. Provide support to senior leaders in the Director's Office and serve as a point of contact for the office and other agency offices
3. Manage incoming requirements, clearly communicate tasks, and track metrics
4. Be readily available to shift focus to fulfill emerging requests and special projects
5. Exhibit attention to detail, flexibility, strong communication skills, understanding of the Agency mission, and problem-solving abilities to enable client success
6. Provide strategic guidance and serve as a thought partner to office leadership to streamline processes, anticipate and mitigate blockers, and support goal-setting, operational planning, efficient execution, and external messaging and communications
7. Coordinate efforts among the Director's Office team to track assignments, actions, and milestones; report on OKRs and other performance metrics; and advise and coordinate with agency leadership and teammates to reach goals
8. Coordinate support for senior leadership engagement in various client activities such as industry events, internal programming for technical staff, HHS matters, and ecosystem trips and other external engagements
9. In coordination with acquisitions points of contact across the agency, provide data analysis support for Agency acquisitions, including data and document collection from internal acquisition trackers and tools. Track important health and life sciences developments across the U.S. government and externally, and assess implications for the Director's Office and agency
10. Work closely with other Action Officers so the Director's Office is well-organized, prepared, and informed for meetings and other engagements, including handling, responding, collaborating, and communicating with a broad range of requests from inside and outside the agency
11. Liaise with other U.S. government officials, partners, academics, private sector, and other executives in various sectors
Requirements:
1. 5+ years of experience as a Chief of Staff or Action Officer (or equivalent) to a principal, senior leader, or executive
2. 5+ years of experience operating within the U.S. government
3. Experience in strategic planning, optimizing operations, and solving complex problems to achieve organizational goals
4. Ability to coordinate team efforts, track progress, and advise on strategies to achieve organizational goals
5. Ability to be well-organized, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities to meet deadlines
6. Strong communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
1. 7+ years of experience staffing principals or senior leaders
2. Experience engaging a broad range of stakeholders, including U.S. officials and private sector executives
3. Experience supporting ARPA programs such as ARPA-H, DARPA, IARPA, or ARPA-E; or HHS advanced development programs or R&D; and/or start-up organizations
4. Ability to conduct thorough research, analyze data and organizational priorities, and generate actionable insights to inform strategic decisions
5. Master's degree in a related field
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
Location: on- site in Washington D.C.; potential ad-hoc travel as needed
Clearance: Ability to obtain HHS Public Trust.
