Job Description
is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our Space Systems team. In this role, you will support the development of mission‑critical software for advanced space programs. You will work as part of a fast‑paced, agile cross‑functional Integrated Product Team (IPT), contributing to software that supports some of the nation’s most important space-based capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and test C++ software in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment, using modern development practices and tools.
Develop new software features based on Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs), collaborating closely with algorithm and systems engineering teams.
Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve software defects, providing fixes and updates in response to Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) workflows.
Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), senior engineers, and subsystem leads across multiple software components to ensure interoperable, high‑quality solutions.
Create and maintain software documentation, unit tests, and configuration management records in accordance with program standards.
Support integration, verification, and validation activities on distributed systems including RHEL VMs, servers, and engineering workstations.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field.
Proficiency in C++ development on Linux-based systems.
Experience with software design, debugging, and unit testing.
Ability to work collaboratively within an agile engineering team.
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (often a requirement for Space Park roles).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in RHEL environments (virtual machines, servers, or embedded systems).
Familiarity with algorithm-driven software development, mathematical models, or signal/data processing.
Previous work with Git, CI/CD pipelines, CMake, or similar dev tools.
Experience resolving software DRs or working within formal defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, ClearCase, DOORS).
Strong communication and cross‑team collaboration skills.
