Senior System Administrator

Nationwide IT Services, NIS is seeking an experienced System Administrator for a potential opportunity with experience in Visual Requirements View (VRV) to lead a critical Air Force support contract at Patrick Space Force Base in Florida.
Position Overview: Responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and configuration of Air Force / Space Force information systems. This role serves as the technical lead for the administration team, ensuring system availability and reliability while meeting all DoD 8140 cyber workforce qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Network Administration, manage and maintain server, network, and desktop infrastructure
• Information Assurance
• Perform software installations
• Patch management
• System upgrades in accordance with Air Force policies
• Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues
• Mentor junior administrators and ensure team compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies.
Required Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in System Administration and Information Assurance.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is highly desired.
• DoD 8140 Compliance: Must meet DoDM 8140.03 qualification requirements for the relevant Cyber IT work role (e.g., System Administrator - 451) at the Intermediate or Advanced proficiency level.
• Certifications: CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II/III certification) required prior to start.
