Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer Level 2 with strong expertise in secure Kubernetes environments to support the Fort Meade Customer with compliance-driven, mission-critical systems. This role combines hands-on technical depth with systems engineering rigor, supporting system design, requirements management, sustainment, and collaboration across technical teams and mission stakeholders in evolving security environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support secure Kubernetes-based systems, including networking, configuration, deployment, and sustainment.
  • Manage and trace system and derived requirements to ensure alignment with enterprise architectures (e.g., DoDAF, SOA).
  • Contribute to systems engineering documentation, including SEPs, requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), CCBs, and technical reviews to resolve cross-discipline issues.
  • Support interface definition, configuration changes, and lifecycle integration across system components.
  • Develop and evaluate system architectures, design solutions, and verification approaches.
  • Support compliance-driven operations, ensuring accuracy, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Provide input to WBS, work packages, and Integrated Master Plans (IMPs).
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and mission stakeholders, adapting to evolving operational and security needs.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • 14 years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline,
    OR 5 additional years of Systems Engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong experience supporting Kubernetes environments, including networking, configuration, and deployment in secure settings.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting requirements development, decomposition, and verification.
  • Experience contributing to systems engineering documentation and lifecycle artifacts.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with both technical teams and mission stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation, tracking, and organizational skills using enterprise tools.


Salary Range

USD $180,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.

The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
