The Space and Intelligence Division provides professional services to the US Space Force, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and NASA. Our work includes enterprise architectural assessments, systems engineering and integration, test, planning and execution, cost estimating and analysis, acquisition support, and cybersecurity. The Strategic Technology Analysis Group (STAG), part of SPA's Space and Intelligence Division, offers sophisticated capabilities (people, process & tools) to resolve unique problems in space, cyber, and special operations in support to military services, Secretary of Defense offices (OSD) and theater warfighters. Our portfolio includes the Assistant Secretary of Air Force for Space Acquisition & Integration (SAF/SQ), Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO), US Space Command (USSPACECOM) and US Space Force (USSF). SPA has an immediate need for a Senior Space Technology and Modeling & Simulation Expert.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical/scientific resource on projects, developing advanced project management models and forecasting resource requirements.
- Demonstrates understanding of customer requirements to study the appropriate parameters and metrics.
- Extensive expertise in the design, development, testing, and operations of satellite systems and space architectures. Demonstrated ability in flight software and hardware integration, orbital maneuver planning, and experimental mission development involving high-precision technologies.
- Ability to develop and apply advanced MS&A tools for optimization and decision-making across national security space operations. Proficiency in leveraging data-driven simulations to assess system performance, inform operational strategies, and mitigate risks.
- Experience in designing predictive models for evaluating complex systems or architectures, including spacecraft maneuvers and orbital dynamics. Expertise in using simulations to inform investment priorities, resource allocation, and technology development.
- Ability to build, inspire, and lead large interdisciplinary teams across organizational boundaries. Demonstrated success in aligning diverse stakeholders, forging strategic partnerships, and directing high-impact research efforts in support of mission success.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance
- MA/MS degree or higher -- additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in STEM, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field of study
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Uses, maintains, tests and develops mathematical and scientific models to study complex systems
- Provides technical insight and interpretation to results provided by models and other analytic methodologies
- Prepares technical documentation and presentations to explain the associated assumptions and conclusions of analysis
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Able to effectively manage time and collaborate across a diverse set of group/division priorities
- Recognized expert at developing briefs and reports for projet leadership team review
- Additional requirements as needed by contract or division/group and/or company requirements
- Ability to report to designated work location in Colorado Springs, up to full time, based on the needs of the customer
