Utility Custodian

Under a major Intelligence Community contract, IAP operates and maintains facilities, systems, and associated grounds across Virginia and Maryland. Services provided include comprehensive facility operations; project management for renovations, minor construction, and major equipment repairs; engineering, construction, and operations support; custodial and grounds maintenance services; environmental, safety, and occupational health support; food services; motorpool and logistics operations; and physical and technical security services.

As the Utility Custodian, you're essential to daily operations and requires professionalism, discretion, and strict adherence to security protocols. The Utility Custodian performs routine and specialized custodial duties in sensitive spaces while complying with all safety, security, and confidentiality requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Perform daily custodial services including cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining offices, conference rooms, restrooms, corridors, and common areas within a secure facility
• Handle waste disposal, recycling, and shredding in accordance with IC security and information protection procedures
• Safely operate custodial equipment and use approved cleaning agents in compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards
• Respond to scheduled and unscheduled cleaning requests, including spill response and special event support
• Maintain custodial supply inventory and report shortages or equipment issues
• Follow strict access control, badge, escort, and compartmentalization requirements at all times
• Immediately report security concerns, safety hazards, or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel
• Support emergency procedures and continuity-of-operations activities as directed
• Maintain professionalism and discretion when working around sensitive personnel, materials, and spaces

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in the industry is preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
