Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Senior Engineering Technician - Secret position that just opened in Canonsburg, PA. In this role, you will support a variety of engineering activities including design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, specialized test equipment, experimental design circuitry, and laser/light transmission devices. To be considered, you will have an Associate's degree plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will support a variety of engineering activities including design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, specialized test equipment, experimental design circuitry, and laser/light transmission devices. Responsibilities may include:
- Layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic or electromechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems
- Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain components, devices, and systems
- Perform calibration and alignment checks
- Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions
- Construct, modify, debug, test, and adjust tools and equipment based on drawings and instructions
- Implement basic practical solutions to support process improvements
- Conduct and document laboratory experiments under the guidance of senior staff
- Build basic tooling and fixtures to support unique assignments
- Organize data to identify cause/effect trends and recommend improvements
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Fundamental knowledge of relevant tools and equipment
- Ability to fabricate basic hardware
- Clear computer and test-equipment proficiency
May require:
- 1st Class FCC License
- Solder Repair Certification
Clearance Requirements:
- Department of Defense active Secret security clearance is required.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
