Our client requires a Senior System Administrator to support onsite systems at Aberdeen Proving Ground. The administrator will manage Linux-centric infrastructures, maintain secure and reliable networks, and support endpoint and server environments. The engagement is contract to hire with opportunity for clearance upgrade based on program needs.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. - Provide functional and empirical analysis of software systems supporting enterprise operations.
- Administer Linux and Windows networks and systems with a primary focus on Linux.
- Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot servers to maintain stability and performance.
- Deliver software support for laptops, desktops, and printers, including hardware configuration and network design.
- Monitor system configuration and review server event logs to identify and resolve issues.
- Test operating systems, networking software, and computer hardware to validate functionality.
- Develop and manage server backup procedures to ensure data integrity and recovery.
Experience Requirements:
Experience Requirements
- Five years of relevant system administration experience within the last eight years.
- Hands-on knowledge of TCP/IP networking and information security or authorization profiles.
- System administration experience with Linux or Windows, with Linux prioritized.
- Proven experience installing, upgrading, and troubleshooting servers in production environments.
- Experience supporting end-user computing devices and peripherals, including configuration and software testing.
- Experience monitoring configurations and server event logs to maintain system health.
- Experience developing and executing server backup procedures.
- Active Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another Engineering or Technical discipline.
- Must have an Active Secret clearance or higher.
