Description
The Defense Sector at Leidos is seeking a Lead Senior Assessor to provide remote support to the Joint Advanced Fires Qualification Course (JAFQC). In this role, your deep expertise in All‑Domain Fires Integration, Joint Operational Art, and Large‑Scale Combat Operations will directly shape the next generation of joint fires professionals. The Joint Staff J6 Joint Fires Integration Division (JFID) oversees this course as part of its broader effort to modernize the Joint Targeting Cycle and Command and Control (C2) for Globally Integrated All‑Domain Fires and Effects at speed and scale.

In this role, your deep expertise in All‑Domain Fires Integration, Joint Operational Art, and Large‑Scale Combat Operations will directly shape the next generation of joint fires professionals. The Joint Staff J6 Joint Fires Integration Division (JFID) oversees this course as part of its broader effort to modernize the Joint Targeting Cycle and Command and Control (C2) for Globally Integrated All‑Domain Fires and Effects at speed and scale.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver senior‑level assessment and oversight across the full 16‑week JAFQC program.
- Serve as the lead subject matter expert for the maritime domain, ensuring robust integration of maritime fires, undersea warfare, and complex maritime strike scenarios.
- Design and execute a comprehensive assessment plan measuring student performance and course effectiveness against JWC 3.0 Key Operational Problems (KOPs) and CJADC2 objectives.
- Lead assessment for the capstone Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) exercise, RESOLUTE HUNTER, evaluating team performance in executing complex kill chains within contested environments.
- Coordinate with Navy stakeholders to ensure curriculum alignment with current and emerging fleet requirements.
- Mentor students and cadre, providing expert guidance on planning and executing joint fires at the operational level of war.
- Analyze academic results, graded events, and capstone outcomes to deliver actionable feedback and recommendations for continuous curriculum improvement.
- Advise the JAFQC Portfolio Manager and Course Manager on enhancing joint fires integration, including non‑kinetic effects and multi‑domain operations.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 12 years of experience, including at least 5 years in All‑Domain Operations.
- Active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance.
- BA or BS degree; equivalent operational experience may substitute for a degree.
- Senior leadership experience within a Service Warfighting Development Organization.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in integrating All‑Domain Fires and Effects.
- Extensive operational background in the maritime domain with proven experience planning and executing maritime strike operations.
- Strong understanding of the Find, Fix, Finish methodology, particularly in LSCO against peer adversaries.
- Proven ability to advise and mentor senior military personnel on joint operations, authorities, and capabilities at the operational level of war.
Preferred Qualifications
- MA or MS degree, or graduation from a senior‑level service college.
- Senior leadership experience on the staff of a Service Weapons School or equivalent.
- Experience supporting a Combatant Command or its Naval Service Components.
- Direct experience with joint fires planning and execution in exercises such as RESOLUTE HUNTER or SPACE FLAG.
