The Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System (NSIPS) program is seeking an ETL Software Developer to join their analytics development team. This position plays a crucial role in building and maintaining the data pipelines necessary to support our business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
HOW DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources
• Collaborate with data architects and senior developers to understand data requirements and implement solutions
• Write and optimize complex PL/SQL queries for data transformation and validation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs, identifying and resolving data quality issues as they arise
• Implement data quality checks, error handling, and logging within ETL pipelines
• Document ETL processes and maintain metadata for data governance
• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and standards
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of advanced PL/SQL experience, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Advanced understanding of ETL concepts and data warehousing principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and convey ideas in verbal and written form
• Basic understanding of Unix/Linux Shell scripting is a plus
• Basic experience with programming languages such as Python or Java are a plus
