Position Title: Computer Technician III (Ft. Bliss)
Security Clearance (Required): Secret
Certifications (Required): Computing Environment, Security+ (or equivalent DOD Directive 8140.01 IAT II) or A+/Network+ (or equivalent DOD Directive 8140.01 IAT I)
Position Description:
- Required technical knowledge of installing, configuring, repairing, and maintaining software, hardware, configurations, and peripherals; isolating equipment/system/software malfunctions and restoring failed equipment to good working order; conducting operational checks and replacing defective parts and assemblies
- Required basic knowledge of networking concepts such as cable making/repair, IP address schema, and LAN implementation and configuration
- Some experience in with video teleconferencing systems
- Performing Tier I and Tier 2 deskside incident resolution of workstations, printers and peripheral devices
- Add new printers/remove unused printers to/from printer server.
- Monitoring and responding to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware including printers and software testing tools and techniques
- Under direct supervision, assisting with network hardware, servers and software installation, troubleshooting and support
Required Education and Experience:
High School/GED and 7 years experience
Associates Degree and 5 years experience
Bachelors Degree and 3 years experience
Masters Degree and 1 year experience
Relevant education must be in an IT discipline related to the assigned program area (e.g., Network Engineering, Network Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Forensics/Security, etc.
