The Northrop Grumman Chief Information and Digital Office (CIDO) organization is seeking a highly experienced (Sr Principal or Staff level) High-Performance Computing (HPC) Systems Administrator. The qualified applicant will support Northrop Grumman's Space Systems sector infrastructure.
This position oversees the development, operation, and administration of HPC systems and support services used by more than 10 different programs under our Launch and Exploration Division (LED) located at our Chandler, AZ facility.

Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $139,000.00 - $208,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Perform as a HPC administrator for multiple networks in the classified environment.
- Provide day to day support (technical/non-technical) & administration of HPC services, including user training, problem resolution, resources & priorities management.
- Proactively assess capacity and service needs, develop rationale for changes/upgrades, provide budget input to business & IT leadership.
- Manage Hardware/Software supplier relationships.
- Interact with other Northrop Grumman HPC teams for technical interchange, address common issues, evaluate new and emerging technologies including cloud HPC.
- Maintain compliant systems with up-to-date software, patching, updates, and hardware.
- Maintain smooth operation of HPC systems in coordination with engineering end users, project managers, IT staff, and management.
- Build, configure, and set up new HPC environments, and decommission old environments.
- Quickly learn and maintain new HPC configurations and environments.
- Develop and document technical processes and procedures.
- Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines.
- Maintain security audit and logging information as directed by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM).
- Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
- Works under minimal direction and independently determines and develops approach to solutions.
- Mentor others in the growth of HPC knowledge and support and in the IT profession.
- Provide surge support in other areas including System Administration, Workstation setup, networking, computer hardening and IT projects.
Additional required knowledge includes, but is not limited to:
- Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC), Slurm, Bright Cluster Manager, PBS Professional
- Strong understanding of cluster resource managers, schedulers, clusterware and GPU computing.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and available to work overtime. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends for maintenance and issue resolution.
- Must be able to work onsite full time.
- The ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Ability and flexibility to provide support in other areas including System Administration, Workstation setup, networking, computer hardening, and IT projects.
- Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server experience
- Experience working with Active Directory
- Delinea/Centrify experience
- Must be able to effectively manage Linux system resources (e.g. ulimits and cgroups)
- Must have experience in customer service, teamwork, oral and written communication skills.

- DoD 8570 Certification in a primary Operating System (Windows, Linux, Cisco)
- Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments
- Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification
- Creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment
- Windows AD, LDAP, VMWare, and knowledge of SAN/NAS storage systems
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment
- Experience with Certification & Accreditation process
- Background experience creating technical documentation, how-to's, and SOP's
- Experience with Nessus, Splunk, SCAP, NIST, system audits, vulnerability scanning, RMF
- Mid to Advanced level Scripting experience
- Active Top Secret, SCI, or the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as condition of continued employment would be ideal
