We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal Financial Analyst based out of San Diego, CA. This is an onsite position that offers the 9/80 schedule.

What You'll Get to Do:

The Principal Financial Analyst will support the Financial Planning & Reporting (FP&R) team for the Navigation, Intelligence and Connectivity Division of Mission Systems Sector, reporting to the Division FP&R Manager.

The Principal Financial Analyst will be responsible for the consolidation and analysis of monthly financial reporting and forecasting; supporting monthly and quarterly Financial and Accounting closing activities; coordination of monthly variance analysis, consolidation and review of annual operating plans; and coordinating monthly unbilled AR reviews.

Additional roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Division lead for cash and balance sheet activities
  • Monthly Indicted Final (IF) forecasting, reporting, and analysis to include Income Statement and Balance Sheet activities
  • Annual Operating Plan (AOP) preparation and variance analysis
  • Reserve tracking and analysis
  • AR metrics reporting and analysis
  • AR billed/unbilled reviews and status
  • Various month-end entries related to Account reclassifications
  • Profit Plan Analysis and SOX compliance
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field with 5 years of related experience, or Master's Degree as described with 3 years of related professional experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with COGNOS
  • Experience with financial planning and reporting
  • US Citizenship is required.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Hyperion Planning, HFM, Access databases, and advanced Excel
  • Ability to interface with multiple disciplines and varying levels of management
  • Strong understanding of government contracting and accounting

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
