Supply Chain's vision is to enable customer and mission success through supply chain strategies and execution that deliver superior operational program performance and create competitive advantage through continuous improvement. It is our mission to deliver affordable supply chain solutions that meet all program requirements and manage supply chain risks to ensure positive supplier performance through all phases of the program life-cycle from capture to sustainment. On the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) Program, Supply Chain is a key driver in providing buy component responsible for approximately 50% of the program hardware development subcontracts totaling two billion dollars of supplier value. The subcontractors we manage are vital in supporting design, build and deployment of the next step forward in national security detecting, tracking and destroying incoming intercontinental ballistic missiles in space before they reach American soil.
This Subcontract Program Management (SPM) Principle position on NGI will be one of the more senior subcontract program management positions responsible for managing some of the larger and more critical subcontractors on program.
As part of the NGI Subcontract team this role will offer you the following daily key responsibilities:
• Responsible for leading the Subcontract Management Team (SCMT) for the assigned hardware and subcontractor. Overall responsible for the cost, schedule and technical execution of the assigned subcontractor. Is expected to actively manage the supplier in delivering hardware on budget and schedule and develop and implement correction actions when necessary.
• Will directly support the Integrated Product (IPT) Lead for the missile segment that the subcontract supports on a day to day basis. Responsible for providing status reporting as required and supporting the overall IPT business rhythm
• Will also support NGI Subcontract Team Leadership as directed. Responsible for providing status reporting as required and supporting NGI Supply Chain business rhythm
• Will be directly responsible for leading the assigned SCMT supporting all proposal efforts for the NGI production program.
• As one of the more experienced subcontract program management professionals in Lockheed Martin, will be expected to train and mentor more junior NGI supply chain personnel.
• Some (up to 30%) travel to the customer and subcontractor locations is required.
This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near a Lockheed Martin Space facility in either:
• Denver, CO ,
• Rocket City USA: Huntsville/Courtland AL ,
or
• Sunnyvale, CA .
and be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education
• 10+ years overall experience, with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in subcontract program management
• 2+ years of overall experience in managing large (over $100M) subcontractors
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US SECRET clearance , to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
• Three years of current experience on large cost plus government programs
• Experience with managing all contract types: Cost Plus, Incentive Fee, Firm Fixed Price contract types.
• Technical knowledge of missile products. An engineering background is considered a plus.
• Proven record of managing and delivering critical, large subcontract products, with focus on complex development subcontracts to deliver on time and within budget
• Control Account Management certification and experience
• Ability to develop strong supplier relationships and positively supplier performance

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
