What We're Doing
Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Regional team, is constantly engineering, developing and integrating new capabilities for the U.S. Missile Defense System. Protecting both the United States and its allies. This large, fast paced team, is composed of many small agile teams working together dynamic environment with a common mission to develop and deploy leading-edge missile defense technologies.

The Work
The Regional Applications Systems Software Engineer is to act as the primary software technical liaison between Regional Applications (RA) cross functional product teams, and Systems Engineering and Verification, Integration and Test RMAs, for system engineering-related efforts.

Candidate will be responsible to coordinate RA efforts for software updates associated with end to end systems engineering efforts, requirements flow analysis, support verification & validation and test event efforts by providing systems engineering focused expertise and leadership to ensure a disciplined software development approach to the definition, development, and analysis of the system capabilities.
Basic Qualifications:
****DoD Final SECRET Security Clearance (Top Secret Desirable) *****

- Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or related field and 9 years of experience or 7 years with a graduate degree.

- Experience in Software Development and Systems Engineering or related disciplines.

- The candidate will have significant experience in authoring ICDs, IDDs and requirements.

- Must be able to function as part of an experienced team in developing software designs and reviewing systems engineering products and artifacts while adhering to the program Software Development. Plan (SDP) and Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP). and other C2BMC processes and plans.

- Direct experience with requirements management tools (Jama, IBM DOORS, Polarion, Azure).
Participation in verification & validation planning or execution (test plan creation, testcase management, defect tracking).

-Strong written and oral communication with both technical and non technical audiences and experience leading teams.
Desired Skills:
- Experience as Technical Lead, Software Development Lead, Systems Engineering SME or Systems Engineering leader in the Missile Defense, Space, or Link 16 Domain.

- Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions.

- Experience with identification of system capabilities, definition of system capabilities; communicating the system capabilities to a diverse group of software developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users; and generating artifacts to document and control the achievement of the system capabilities.

- Experience developing system engineering and architecture artifacts (e.g. Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.).

- Experience creating briefings, creating/reviewing architecture designs and artifacts, and presenting at DoD Customer Design Reviews.

- Experience as a technical leader for a DoD Systems Engineering or Software Development effort.

- Familiarity with Private Cloud solutions and IT technologies such as VMWare/Nutanix, RedHat, Network solutions.

- Experience with Software development and Java based software.

- Familiarity with DevSecOps and/or Digital Engineering Transformation (DET) methodologies and solutions.

- Familiarity with Agile development and Scrum.

- Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo or similar tool.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
