MANTECH seeks a motivated and mission-driven Principal Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.
You will help ensure the operational integrity and advancement of secure enterprise environments by supporting Cross Domain Solutions (CDS). This role supports high-impact cybersecurity missions through Tier 2/3 operations, system engineering, and security compliance.

You will help ensure the operational integrity and advancement of secure enterprise environments by supporting Cross Domain Solutions (CDS). This role supports high-impact cybersecurity missions through Tier 2/3 operations, system engineering, and security compliance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting operations and maintenance (Tier 2/3) of deployed Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) interface technologies
- Engineering and deploying capabilities to provide new functionality, improve system performance/availability, and generate efficiencies in maintaining the operational environment
- Supporting Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities related to CDS technologies
- Identifying and resolving conflicts related to the implementation of CDS technologies within the enterprise
- Contributing to the successful completion of key project milestones
- Providing solutions to a variety of complex technical problems
- Developing plans to safeguard computer files against unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of a degree
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity
- Experience with Linux operating systems and scripting
- Knowledge of general operating system security practices, TCP/IP networking, and network security concepts
- Knowledge of cybersecurity architectural principles such as defense in depth, resilience, and integrated security operations
- IAT Level II certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience creating custom Splunk dashboards
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Knowledge of CDS technologies on the NCDSMO approved products list
- Knowledge of database and operating system security
- Knowledge of defensive cyber operations
- Ability to apply security principles to systems and enterprise system designs
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
