Huntsville, AL (On-Site/Office)
MTSI is seeking to hire a Laser Engineer to join a high performing and dynamic team supporting the development of high-fidelity physics-based models/simulations, sensor data collection and analysis, and other hardware testing/analysis to anchor system and phenomenology models/simulations.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team to assist in developing physics-based models/simulations, executing hardware tests/data collects, and applying data analysis to verify the performance of models. Models/simulations will address photonics/optics phenomenology and applications for lasers, sensors/detectors, and light-material interactions. Testing activities include design and implementation of laboratory-based and/or field-based setups for characterizing sensors and laser systems, evaluating/testing prototype hardware performance, and/or investigating relevant optical phenomena. Other tasks may include concept and requirements development, design trades, independent performance assessment, and post-test data analysis.
