Evolver Federal is seeking a Talend ETL Developer to join our team in support of our Federal Health IT customer. The Talend Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining ETL/data integration jobs to support application data flows and reporting. This role works closely with data architects, DBAs, and application teams to ensure reliable, secure, and high-quality data processing across systems and environments.
This is a remote position requiring the person to work an EST schedule and be based within the United States.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Talend ETL jobs to support data ingestion, transformation, validation, and loading across systems
- Implement data integration solutions using Talend Studio (Talend Data Integration / Talend Data Management components)
- Analyze and translate technical requirements and data specifications to design and implement effective Talend ETL solutions
- Develop and maintain reusable Talend job frameworks, components, and shared contexts
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and error-handling logic within Talend jobs
- Troubleshoot and resolve ETL job failures, performance issues, and data discrepancies
- Work with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) to read, transform, and load structured data
- Optimize Talend jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Implement logging, auditing, and restart/recovery mechanisms in ETL workflows
- Support CI/CD pipelines for Talend job builds and deployments using Maven and Jenkins
- Collaborate with DBAs and application teams on schema changes, data dependencies, and release planning
- Assist with data mapping, source-to-target specifications, and technical documentation
- Support production deployments and provide operational support for scheduled and ad-hoc jobs
- Monitor job executions and respond to failures or data issues in a timely manner
- Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standards and best practices
- Proactively recommend improvements to ETL design, data quality, and operational processes
- Work within Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related information technology field
- 3 years of experience in ETL or data integration development
- 2 years of hands-on experience developing jobs in Talend Studio
- 2 years of experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL (writing and understanding SQL)
- 2 years of experience analyzing technical requirements and implementing data integration solutions using Talend
- 2 years of experience with data transformation, joins, aggregations, and data validation logic
- 2 years of experience implementing error handling, logging, and job control frameworks in ETL workflows
- 2 years of experience understanding data integration concepts, including batch processing, scheduling, and dependencies
- 1 year of experience with data modeling and database schemas
- 2 years of experience with Git version control
- 2 years of experience with CI/CD processes and build tools such as Maven and Jenkins
- 2 years of experience with AWS services (e.g., S3, RDS, IAM) in support of data pipelines
- 2 years of experience working in an Agile development environment
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident required, and all applicants shall have lived in the United States for at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years
- Must be able to pass a client-specific Public Trust background investigation
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Talend CI Builder or Talend Administration Center (TAC)
- Experience deploying Talend jobs across multiple environments (DEV, TEST, PROD)
- Experience with scripting languages such as Java or Shell for orchestration or support tasks
- Exposure to data quality, governance, or metadata concepts
- Experience supporting healthcare, federal, or regulated data environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely
- Sense of ownership and accountability for job quality and data accuracy
- Team player with good time-management and organizational skills
- Great interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain proactive and effective communication as a remote employee
