Systems Analyst

Evolver is seeking a Systems Analyst to support the implementation, enhancement, and modernization of existing web-based applications. The role is centered on analyzing deployed and existing web applications, documenting how systems function today, and supporting development and modernization teams by translating current-state application behavior into clear, actionable documentation.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in systems and application analysis, understands how web applications are built and enhanced, and is comfortable working from existing implementations and codebases to document system flows, application behavior, and technical usage patterns.

Responsibilities:

Application & Systems Analysis

• Analyze implemented and in-use‑ web applications to understand current functionality, workflows, integrations, and technical dependencies as they exist in production environments.
• Trace application behavior across UI components, backend services, APIs, and data flows to support enhancement, refactoring, and modernization initiatives.

Web Application Implementation & Enhancement Support

• Support web application implementation and enhancement efforts by translating existing system behavior into requirements and artifacts that support the development team.
• Assist teams in understanding how legacy functionality should be implemented, refactored, or retired‑.
• Provide ongoing clarification during development and testing phases to ensure fidelity to documented system behavior.

Documentation & Functional Inventory

• Produce and maintain clear documentation of web applications and systems, including, but not limited to, application and feature inventories, process flows and user interaction flows, system touchpoints, integrations, and dependencies.
• Analyze existing applications to help determine used versus unused code paths, features, and workflows, supporting scope control, technical rationalization, and modernization planning.
• Maintain documentation and artifacts in approved repositories (e.g., Jira, Confluence, SharePoint).

Agile & Team Collaboration

• Participate in SAFe ceremonies (backlog grooming, PI planning, sprint planning, and reviews) in a supporting and analytical capacity.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, Architects, QA, UX, and DevOps teams to identify dependencies and modernization impacts.
• Support testing and validation activities by ensuring implemented functionality aligns with documented system behavior.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related field, or 10 years of equivalent experience.
• 6 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Application Analyst supporting web-based‑ applications.
• 4 years of experience analyzing existing or legacy applications in production environments, including system behavior and implemented features.
• 3 years of experience with web application architecture, including front‑end components, backend services, APIs, and data flows.
• 3 years of experience working in Agile delivery environments using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident required, and all applicants shall have lived in the United States for at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check that includes a client-specific Public Trust background investigation

Preferred Qualifications :

• Handson experience working with UX/UI design or UI development for web applications, including familiarity with frontend frameworks, component-based UI patterns, or design systems.
• Experience supporting application modernization initiatives, including cloud migration or containerized environments (AWS/ECS exposure preferred).
• Ability to evaluate and review implemented UI behavior and user workflows, with consideration for usability, consistency, and efficiency during enhancement or refactoring efforts.
• Experience participating in or supporting testing activities related to UI or user workflows, including UAT, regression testing, or validation of UI behavior against expected functionality.
• Familiarity with accessibility requirements (e.g., Section 508 / WCAG) as they apply to web-based user interfaces and implemented application screens.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly capture complex systems for technical and non‑technical audiences.
