We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Administrator to join our Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) group in Rancho Bernardo, contributing to innovative programs like the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS). In this role, you will oversee the operational aspects of ongoing projects, ensuring key milestones are met and objectives achieved. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will help develop project plans, schedules, and solutions to drive success in cutting-edge engineering initiatives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administers daily operational aspects of one or more ongoing projects, typically as part of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs); participates in project plan development, design and schedule.
  • Integrates and analyzes project plans to ensure milestones and delivery requirements are met; ensures that all the key parties are advised.
  • Analyzes data and situations and develops solutions with project managers, line managers, engineering, production, and clients; influences and guides on actions to be taken.
  • Develops appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records.
  • Represent the organization as prime contact with outside organizations; may make internal and external presentations as required.
  • Provides direction to support less experienced professional staff.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive professional project administration experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must demonstrate a complete understanding of project administration principles, theories, concepts, and techniques, particularly in engineering or high-technology environments.
  • Must have experience organizing, planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates, including managing dependencies and adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes.
  • Must be customer-focused and possess:
    • The ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.
    • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings.
    • Strong interpersonal skills enabling an effective interface with other professionals, and proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, SAP, or equivalent software.
  • Ability to plan and replan tasks that may have dependencies, predecessors, or successors, which can change over time due to external factors such as production delays, while ensuring effective communication with stakeholders to mitigate risks and maintain project alignment.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting is essential, as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience with EMALS and AAG products.
  • Demonstrated experience with Windchill.
  • Preferred experience with EVMS.
  • Exceptional experience would include Power BI and Access database knowledge.
