The UH-60 A/L Aircraft Mechanic AM-2 (UH-60 A/L) performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.

- Hands-on UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter maintainer experience is Required.
- Knowledge of the makeup, operation, installation and modification of UH-60 Blackhawk models and series of aircraft, their major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components and related systems.
- US Citizenship and a Valid US Passport is Required for OCONUS Deployment and to obtain the required US Govt Security Clearance.
- Technical knowledge of the UH-60 aircraft models and components/sub-assemblies assigned for maintenance, modification and repair.
- Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
- Safely prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
- Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
- Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
- Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
- Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.
- Installs and repairs electrical wiring and/or cable on aircraft in adherence to established specifications.
- Inspect and troubleshoots to determine cause of malfunctions; disassembles to point of trouble; adjusts, repairs, realigns or replaces defective component or assembly.
- Ability to assemble a variety of system assemblies, and sub-assemblies such as fuel and hydraulic systems, tail boom assemblies, and the power train.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- A High School diploma or GED equivalent is Required.
- U.S. Military technical school or specialized training course is desired.
- UH-60 (A/L) hands-on experience is Required.
- UH-60 M experience is preferred but not required.
- A valid (FAA) A&P certificate OR FCC License (with Elements 1 and 3) is Preferred, but Not required.
- Contractual Requirements outlined below; years of specific experience with FAA certifications and without (FAA) certifications:
- With an (FAA) A&P certificate or FCC license, A minimum of Two (2) years aviation maintenance experience, Three (3) years of rotary wing/helicopter maintenance experience, and Two (2) years of specific UH-60 A/L hands-on maintainer experience is Required.
- All experience must be within the recent past Five (5) years, Required.
- Without an (FAA) A&P or FCC License, Three (3) years of aviation maintenance experience, Two (2) years of hands-on rotary wing aircraft maintenance experience, and Two (2) years of specific UH-60 A/L hands-on experience is Required.
- Without FAA credentials, All experience must be within the most recent Six (6) years, Required.
- A Valid US Passport is Required; the Passport must have a minimum of 18 months remaining before expiration.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must have the Ability to obtain and maintain a US Govt Security Clearance (NAC-I T1) Public Trust. An Interim NAC-I approved to start. US Citizenship is Required to obtain facility credentials and the NAC-I Public Trust Security Clearance.
Knowledge & Skills
- Able to properly use a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges, torque wrenches and scales and test, measurement and diagnostic equipment related to specific aircraft models.
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
- Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems.
- Ability to read, apply and interpret technical data.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to travel/deploy (TDY) to austere environments, or potential combat areas worldwide, in support of mission requirements.
