Responsibilities

Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 5 - 7 yrs of experience, or a Master's and 3 to 5 yrs of experience. Using a holistic approach, designs, develops, evaluates and modifies end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle. Generates quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics. Ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishes and coordinates development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the overall product development. Designs interfaces and brings system elements together so they work as a whole. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Participates in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Translates high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with multi-discipline engineering teams to develop lower level detailed requirements. Participates in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation. Generates system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Reviews test plans/procedures and ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participates in the testing process to validate requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate initialization planning by delivering initialization handbooks, master schedules, readiness plans, readiness review execution plans, data dissemination CONOPS, meeting artifacts, and task analysis and close out briefs
  • Manage collaboration sites for initialization activities; create, populate and maintain data repositories to allow distributed teams to access required data and collaborate on execution
  • Coordinate engineering demonstrations and new capability tests
  • Produce requirements for environment, tools, and data to assess product quality trade studies and impacts
  • Document technical approach, objectives, and success criteria for related product quality trade studies
  • Perform trades/analysis by leveraging domain experts using simulation methods to determine performance impacts based on new requirements
  • Generate project plan and corresponding data requirements, checklists, objectives and criteria for studies
  • Assess readiness event material for technical accuracy
  • Evaluate evidence against established criteria and provide feedback on results
  • Provide recommendations for event/milestone decisions
  • Provide lessons learned and insights for event preparation
  • Monitor incidents for potential impacts and blockers
  • Report validation results and workaround impacts to readiness reviews
  • Analyze risks and opportunities for cost, schedule and performance impacts
  • Reassess as necessary to accurately report status and update impacts
  • Propagate risks and opportunities results to information or decision forums and documentation
  • Interface and communicate with leadership, customers, and external organizations

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
  • 5 -7 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 - 5 years with a master's degree, or 0-2 years with a PhD degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, systems), physics, mathematics, computer science, data science or similar technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience related to Responsibilities listed above.
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills. Ability to effectively summarize, report, and present detailed technical topics for executive status.
  • Customer focused and capable of representing the customer in user outreach, familiarity activities and community forums.
  • Understand the systems engineering life cycle.

Desired:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, systems), physics, mathematics, computer science, data science or similar technical discipline.
  • Perform project management required for integrating, testing, and evaluating complex technical systems.
  • Conduct continuous monitoring of system performance over time and respond to anomalous mission behaviors.
