Valiant is looking for a Field Engineer/Threat System Operator to join our team!

In this role you will be r esponsible for operating electronic warfare threat systems and related equipment for the Draughon Bombing and Electronic Attack Range (DBEAR) at Misawa Air Base and Draughon Training Range. This position supports a 13-hour flying window, five consecutive days per week, in coordination with flight operations. Candidates should be prepared to travel to Indo-Pacific countries for temporary duty assignments to perform similar responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support and advise on Integrated Air Defense System (IADS) scenarios to fulfill aircrew missions and training needs.
  • Brief aircrews on current training capabilities and services.
  • Understand and utilize LMOC and the ANGEL feed for fighter squadron training.
  • Provide real-time Air-to-Air Range Training Officer (RTO) and SAM1/RTO assistance during missions following 3.1 (SHOT/KILL) protocols.
  • Collect and relay shot/kill data from all air-to-air and surface-to-air systems to fighter squadrons for debriefs.
  • Participate in mission planning, pre-mission briefings, and debriefs.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in brevity and radio communications.
  • Conduct shot evaluations from sorties.
  • Operate NGTS and NICE to plot notional threat systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: Active Secret.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: High School Diploma

QUALIFICIATIONS:
  • 1+years in electronic warfare knowledge, RF systems, ability to configure and operate simulated threat systems, or equivalent technical education and military experience/ experience working in a military environment.
  • Basic understanding of IP networks, protocols, and tactical datalinks (e.g., Link 16, diads, TDL gateway, DMON), knowledge of C2 infrastructure.
  • Be able to recognize potential security violations, take appropriate action, and mitigate adverse impacts.
  • Apply instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform Information Assurance tasks.
  • Technical, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees. This job involves primarily working outdoors and exposure to the temperatures and elements associated with the region.
