Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Project Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Subsystems Support Contract (GSSC). This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do:
The selected candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. They review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports. The Project Manager assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. They develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Essential Responsibilities:
This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Managing Capital Expenditure projects through the complete life cycle process.
- Assist in creating project schedules with tight deadlines and funding requirements.
- Prepare & present Capital project status briefings to Executive Leadership Team members.
- Facilitate collaboration on projects issues with various entities including Global Supply Chain, Business Management, Property among others.
- Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.
- Problem Solving: Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. May refer to established precedents and policies.
- Discretion/Latitude: Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment. Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Basic Qualifications:
- 5 Years experience with Bachelors; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance.
- Must be a self starter who can take ownership of a project as their own with little oversight.
- Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel,).
- Working knowledge of Project Management principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- At least 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
- Demonstrated track record/experience in project management?/?execution and closeout.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management principles.
- Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
- Experience planning, scheduling, and managing projects with many different stakeholders.
- Experience developing content, packaging, and briefing communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP Certification.
- In scope active DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience with Earned Value Management System.
- Schedule management, budget management, customer management, risk management, and performance management.
- Analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with establishing Strategy, Road map, Vision artifacts.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management Concepts.
- Knowledge Smartsheet software.
