Technical Writer and Editor

The Opportunity:

Write and edit technical documentation, user manuals, and sales and training literature. Apply advanced consult ing skills and extensive technical expertise, including full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

You Have:

• Knowledge of using Micro sof t Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat at the journeyman level
• Ability to edit content from other contributors to ensure consistent voice, compelling and compliant messaging, and spelling, typographical, and grammatical errors
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience writing and editing compelling technical documentation such as reports, letters, and briefing materials, or Master's degree and 3+ years of experience writing and editing compelling technical documentation such as reports, letters, and briefing materials
• Technical Writing Certification

Nice If You Have:

• Experience using and modifying styles, cross references, and Table of Contents development in Micro sof t Word
• Experience working with technical and functional delivery teams on technical documentation
• Knowledge of government information systems or space information systems
• Ability to manage a varied workload and balance numerous priorities while meeting tight deadlines
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, or Communications

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,300.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
