At the Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC), SA-TECH performs operational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance for aerial and seaborne assets in support of weapon systems test and evaluation and fleet training exercises. We manage all stages of aerial and seaborne target assets' operational progression from initial inspection and configuration through deployment, return and post-operation maintenance and repair. We provide management, scheduling and execution of aerial and seaborne target operations; operation and maintenance of target recovery vessels (Aerial Vehicle Recovery [AVRs]); asset maintenance and depot repair; depot engineering assistance; recovery of aerial and seaborne assets; inventory management; and management of Government-furnished facilities, materials, vehicles and equipment.
We are currently looking to hire a talented Ground Support Equipment Mechanic (GSEM) to diagnose, repair and maintain ground support equipment at our facilities at Naval Air Station Point Mugu, CA.

We are currently looking to hire a talented Ground Support Equipment Mechanic (GSEM) to diagnose, repair and maintain ground support equipment at our facilities at Naval Air Station Point Mugu, CA.
In this position, you will have the following basic duties (although other duties may be added):
- Diagnoses, repairs and maintains ground support equipment (GSE).
- Advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repairs of less complex repair/maintenance problems.
- Diagnoses all system components including electrical, electronics, and emissions related fault codes etc., in order to repair or replace faulty parts, as indicated by required testing or visual observations.
- Uses automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions.
- Maintain external fuel and grounding systems.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE.
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications.
- Prepare GSE for storage and mobility deployment.
- Operates, cleans, inspects and services GSE towing vehicles.
- Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within their scope of work
- Conditions will vary as most work will be accomplished outdoors.
- There will be work on the range throughout the year so temperatures will vary.
- The position will require roughly 45% standing, 25% walking, 20% sitting, 5% reaching, and 5% lifting.
- Must be capable of lifting 50-100 pounds assisted by others.
- Must be able to deploy both CONUS and OCONUS.
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
- Shift hours will vary by mission requirements.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
Requirements
Education/Experience/Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years' experience repairing and maintaining one or a combination of the following:
- Ground Vehicles (track or wheeled)
- Power-generation equipment
- Rotary- or fixed-wing aircraft
- Industrial mechanical equipment (pumps, conveyors, lifts, etc.)
- Military experience with Maintenance and Mechanical background (91, 88, 3521 or other Mechanical MOS would be best).
- Working knowledge of Computer systems and software.
- Experience working at a government facility helpful, but not required.
- Forklift Operator license required.
- Class A license preferred.
- Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
- U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Secret Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
- All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
