VistA Database Administrator (Remote)

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a VistA Database Adminstrator to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Portfolio. The VistA Database Administrator will be responsible to p rovide strategic and operational leadership for Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) Database Administration (DBA) processes, ensuring compliance with standards, managing package entries, and supporting Integration Control Registration (ICR) workflows. This position will be fully remote within the United States with core hours of operation from Monday to Friday 8AM to 5PM EST.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage VistA Package, Namespace, Class, and File Range assignments.
• Lead DBA Data Dictionary (DD) Change Request process and Intake redesign.
• Maintain and update DBA Process and Standards documentation.
• Manage the VistA Integration Control Registration (ICR) Lookup Tool.
• Respond to DBA Mailgroup inquiries and FORUM updates.
• Conduct analysis and mockups for new PACKAGE entries.
• Support Power Business Intelligence (BI) dashboard development and data validation.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific/technical discipline and 15 years of relevant experience. An additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for educational requirement
• Deep understanding of VistA architecture
• Strong analytical, research, and documentation skills
• Effective communicator across technical and business teams
• Farmiliarity with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) systems
• Advanced competence in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with ICE processes, SAC standards and namespace management
• Proficiency in IRIS Object Script and Power BI
• Project Team oriented mindset with excellent written and oral communication skills with good decision-making, interpersonal skills.

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain/maintain VA Suitability/Public Trust Clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

USD $138,000.00 - USD $143,000.00 /Yr.
