Job Description:

L3Harris is currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Greenville, TX facility and offers a 9/80 schedule.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrated object-oriented development experience using C++ or JAVA
• Software component development, implementation, and integration in Linux
• Experience using scripting languages such as Bash and Python
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work closely with assigned teams
• Ability to analyze requirements and design tradeoffs against scope, cost, and schedule constraints
• Champions continuous improvement, process innovation, and lessons learned activities into software development process and products
• Document software designs, practices, and development procedures
• Support automated scanning of software and identify vulnerabilities and defects
• Engage and lead code reviews and system design reviews
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
• Capable of collaborating closely with other engineers in a small team or working independently as needed
• Manage complex projects or processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Active DoD Security Clearance with ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Demonstrated experience with software development tools such as compilers, debuggers, and version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Software and hardware troubleshooting background
• Demonstrated experience with software automated test tools and frameworks
• Multi-threaded, parallel, and/or GPU programming experience
• Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies and version control
• Demonstrated ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance
