Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Staff Aeronautical Engineer. The candidate should be a self-starter and will be working within an Integrated Product Team construct. This position will be filled out of El Segundo or Palmdale , Ca.

This candidate will serve as the Deputy IPT Lead within a matrix organization, serving as the IPT's direct liaison between the Program, Operating Unit, adjacent IPTs and multiple engineering organizations. The position will report directly to the multi-discipline Integrated Product Lead Manager 3.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the staff. Providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies.

• Serve as Deputy Integrated Product Lead Manager and DOA as required

• Oversee technical, cost and schedule performance for complex technical projects for a wide range of systems and technologies.

• Ensure technical rigor, drive robust technical solutions, and lead product roll out efforts with cross functional Responsible Engineers (REs) to prepare change request packages from approval to completion.

• Ensure all change requests meet technical requirements to progress through the change management lifecycle to include presentations at Enterprise Technical Change Boards.

• Represent the multi-discipline engineering organization in Integrated Master Schedule working group meetings and meeting or beating technical implementation milestones

• Attend program meetings and present all technical and programmatic engineering information.

• Identify and manage engineering risks, issues, and opportunities, including representing engineering in Risk Board meetings

• Communicate prioritization from program leadership to technical execution teams

• Interface between program/business management and technical team

• Program responsibilities include planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large delivery order or mid-size technical services-type contract.

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team to:

o Develop new projects for approval, including development of the requirements, statement of work (SOW), and schedule.

o Coordinate gathering of impacts and estimates for proposals.

o Develop and adhere to the budget baseline using the Earn Value Management (EVM) process, including development of discrete work packages, providing weekly status of IMS tasks, and providing input to monthly Estimate at Complete (EAC) updates.

o Manage execution of projects and technical tasks to completion and provide regular status updates to leadership.

o Assess, track, and mitigate technical, cost and schedule risk.

o Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience.

• Familiarization with the Technical Change Management Process

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams.

• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, Action Oriented, Strong Attention to Detail, Communicates Effectively

• Hands on experience in electronics engineering, systems engineering and/or aerospace engineering

• Experience and knowledge of Project/Program Management processes to include Control Account Management (CAM) Earned Value Management (EVM) , Risks - Issues - Opportunities (RIO) processes, project planning and scheduling, staffing, coordination and oversight of technical work effort

• Microsoft Office skills (Power Point, Word, Excel)

• Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.

• Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs. (Of note: SAP/PAR will be upgraded once selected candidate is in role. Therefore, candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain upgraded SAP/PAR.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current applicable SAP access

• Experience with managing suppliers.

• Proven leadership abilities to manage, coordinate, and oversee multi-disciplinary teams located in numerous geographical locations.

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
