What does this role look like?
This position supports the Payload Launch Site Support Services (PLSSS) program as the first line supply chain manager with responsibilities including proposal support and program execution. The direct reports to this position include supply chain professionals located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida.
Procurement activities support the operations, maintenance and sustainment of government payload processing systems and support facilities for the Office of Space Launch (OSL) Customer.
In this role you will have the following daily key responsibilities:
Manages subordinate teams overseeing subcontractors or critical subcontracted systems for all contract types and programs. Directs and manages all costs, quality, schedule, financial and technical performance requirements that are levied on the subcontractor or the product family and is required to ensure performance and support of the contract milestones. Develops sourcing and subcontract program management strategic plans that address overall program capture needs and execution. Acts as the main focal point to the subcontractor and program management office. Responsible for and directs all phases of the subcontract from initiation of the business case for make or buy decisions through requests for proposals, subcontract management plans, negotiation strategy, cost accountability and program execution. Makes decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor. Establishes milestone objectives and manages performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications. Leads team normally composed of engineers, quality and procurement personnel.
Please note that this position does NOT support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located at our Lockheed Martin Space facility in either: Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida OR Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, and will be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
• Contracts / Subcontracts experience.
• Prior professional experience working with suppliers to execute to a baseline on a development and/or production program and/or services contracts.
• Understanding of and/or experience negotiating and securing funding for complex long-term agreements.
• Must be open to occasional travel approximately ~10% to support Program and/or Supplier visits.
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD TS/SCI w/Poly clearance , to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
