  • As a participant in the Recent Graduates Program, you will receive both formal and on-the-job training to develop the required knowledge and skill to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • Analyzes technical and/or administrative personnel programs which support mission requirements and determines program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Participates in or conducts studies/surveys, analyzing findings and making recommendations which support assigned mission.
  • Participates in long-range personnel planning in support of assigned DISA programs (planning includes tracking, consolidating, and coordinating available resources relating to assigned programs).
  • Exhibits skill in all phases of document preparation and processing, including use of word processing systems, graphics, electronic mail, and desktop publishing.

Qualifications

The recent graduates program targets individuals who have graduated recently from qualifying educational institutions or programs. To be eligible, applicants must apply within 2 years of degree or certificate completion, except for veterans precluded from doing so due to their military service obligations, who will have up to 6 years after degree or certificate completion. Successful applicants will be placed in a dynamic, career development program.

Who May Be Considered:
  • Individuals who have obtained a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years. OR
  • Individuals who will obtain a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution within 90 days from the date of application. Applicants must provide proof of degree conferral prior to appointment OR
  • Veterans (as defined in 5 U.S.C. 2108) who were unable to apply within 2 years of obtaining a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution due to their military service obligation. Veterans have a full 2-year eligibility period to apply upon his/her release or discharge from active duty. The eligibility period for veterans must be within 6 years of degree completion.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Basic Requirement:

This position has a positive education requirement. Applicants must meet the basic educations requirements in order to be found minimally qualified for the position. GPA Requirement - This position requires a minimum cumulative (GPA) Grade Point Average OF 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. (You must submit transcripts or proof of education to verify your claim)

Qualifying Experience:
  • For the GG-05 your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience is defined as: Preparing charts, graphs or other visual aids in support of program effectiveness.
  • For the GG-07 your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience is defined as: Analyzing findings and making recommendations to various levels of management.
  • For the GG-09 your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience is defined as: Planning, tracking and coordinating programs or coordinating resources related to assigned programs.
Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.

STUDENTS MAY APPLY IF THEY ARE WITHIN 90 DAYS OF GRADUATING FROM THE DATE OF APPLICATION.

Education

Substitution of education for experience at the GG-05 grade level - Four years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation, or the equivalent, is a prerequisite may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. To be creditable, education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university.

Substitution of education for experience at the GG-07 grade level - Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement or 1 academic year of graduate education (or law school, as specified in qualification standards or individual occupational requirements). Superior Academic Achievement: S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.

Substitution of education for experience at the GG-09 grade level - Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, or Master's or equivalent graduate degree such as LL.B. or J.D., may be substituted to meet the experience requirement.

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services at the time of application.   • PROGRAM COMPLETION AND CONVERSION ELIGIBILITY: Upon successful completion of their academic program and the Internship graduates may be converted to a permanent position in the excepted service consistent with agency needs, academic achievement, and demonstrated potential. Conversion potential for this opportunity is a GG-343-11 up to the full performance level of GG-12. However, future budgetary events, hiring restrictions, conversion caps, or other events may preclude the conversion or conversion to a position with the full potential performance level. Individuals converted to a position in the competitive service may be subjected to participation in an agency formal development program.
  • A three trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Management has the prerogative to select at either grade level.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination.
