Job Description

As a Security Officer Building Access - Full Time in Garden Grove, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer supporting an aero and defense location, you will manage access control and visitor processing, help verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor entry points using computer and/or tablet systems. You will conduct routine patrols and complete clear, timely reports while delivering customer service to employees and guests. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Control access to an aerospace and defense location by screening employees, contractors and visitors for proper identification and authorization.
• Issue, verify and manage visitor passes and/or badges in accordance with site requirements, including maintaining visitor logs and check-in and check-out records.
• Monitor access control points such as gates, turnstiles, lobbies and receiving areas to help support authorized entry and exit.
• Conduct vehicle screening as assigned, including checking credentials, verifying delivery and pickup documentation and directing traffic flow to designated areas.
• Operate access control and monitoring systems, including card access software, intercoms and cameras, and report irregular activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Support protection of controlled areas by following post orders for restricted spaces, escort requirements and escalation procedures when access is denied.
• Communicate with site contacts and Allied Universal supervision regarding access issues, alarms, unusual activity and/or operational disruptions.
• Complete required reports such as incident reports, daily activity logs and access-related documentation with clear, timely and accurate details.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
• Participate in drills and/or emergency response activities as directed, including evacuation support, accountability assistance and coordination with responding personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 1+ years of security experience.
• Be 21+ years of age.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
