Position Summary
The Network/Systems Administrator II provides mid-level technical support for the operation, maintenance, and security of network and systems infrastructure supporting U.S. government defense missions. This role supports classified and unclassified environments, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and compliant with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and/or Linux operating systems in a DoD environment
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security to ensure compliance with established baselines and SLAs
• Support network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and related components
• Apply system updates, patches, and security configurations in accordance with DISA STIGs and RMF requirements
• Respond to system outages, incidents, and service requests in a timely manner
• Assist with user account management, access controls, and authentication services (e.g., Active Directory)
• Document system configurations, procedures, and operational changes
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and engineering teams to support mission requirements
• Support accreditation, inspections, and audits as required under DoD policies

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field OR equivalent relevant experience
• 3–5 years of experience as a systems or network administrator in an enterprise or government environment
• Experience supporting Windows Server environments (Linux experience a plus)
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, including DISA STIGs and RMF
• Active Secret clearance (required)
• DoD 8570 / 8140 compliant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+) or ability to obtain within required timeframe

• Experience working in classified environments
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Experience with backup, recovery, and system monitoring tools
• Familiarity with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash)
