Position Description Summary:

The SSA will ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links. Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems. Analyzes and resolves end user software program and connectivity issues.

The SSA will conduct capacity and performance analysis and provide system configuration change and upgrade recommendations. Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administration.

The SSA will also, provide end user training. Provides recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision. Provides local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location. Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications. Works with other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance. Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing.

Responsibilities:

Server Administration for Windows Servers and Microsoft IIS Servers
Extensive use of Windows tools and services to effectively administrate Windows Servers
Efficiently, effectively, and accurately use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducting/executing system administrator tasks
Analyzing DoD directives, internal business guidelines, and IA security policies, to identify specific criteria for content development
Developing network and asset models to enhance the IA posture and take advantage of advanced scanning capabilities
Analyze events found in the application logs to validate the architecture and procedures, define new procedures, and identify events of interest in support of report incident response
Skills & Experience:

Minimum 10 years of specialized experience, defined as progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, where the majority are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions
At least four years of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various server systems software.
Must possess experience in Windows Server Environment to include, MS Windows Server Directory, Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
Education:

BS in a technical discipline
Security Clearance Required:

Must have Secret clearance or equivalent background investigation
