As a Security Officer - Armed Airfield Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at an aero and defense location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and/or concerns, document activity, and deliver professional customer service through clear communication. This post requires an armed guard card or license. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, production areas, and the perimeter, adjusting patrol routes and focus areas based on observed conditions and site direction.
- Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, and help to control entry to restricted and classified areas in accordance with site policies.
- Operate and monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, intrusion alarms, access control, and communication equipment, and report irregularities per post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site leadership and public responders as directed.
- Perform security-related screening and inspection activities for persons, packages, and vehicles as required by site procedures, documenting outcomes and escalating concerns.
- Maintain post logs and complete incident reports with clear, accurate details for security-related events, policy violations, injuries, and property concerns.
- Carry and maintain assigned duty gear in compliance with company policies and site requirements, including accountability of issued equipment and reporting malfunctions.
- Provide visible armed presence at designated posts and during patrols to help to discourage unauthorized access and/or disruptive behavior.
- Support security-related drills, emergency notifications, and building evacuation or shelter procedures as directed, assisting with accountability and traffic flow when needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have a minimum of 6 months of security experience.
- Have a TSA issued TWIC.
- Have an armed guard card and/or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
