This SkillBridge internship is only open to currently serving active-duty U.S. military members who are projected to separate or retire within the authorized SkillBridge window (typically within the next 12 months).

This is not a civilian or student internship. Applicants must be Active-Duty U.S. military personnel eligible for DoD SkillBridge participation.

Overview:

Aegis Aerospace, Inc. is seeking motivated transitioning service members with prior Human Resources and/or Recruiting experience to participate in a DoD SkillBridge internship supporting our HR and Talent Acquisition team.

This internship provides hands-on exposure to corporate HR operations and full-cycle recruiting in a defense and aerospace environment. The role is designed for service members who already possess foundational HR or recruiting knowledge and want to translate their military experience into a civilian HR or talent acquisition career.

This is not an entry-level retraining opportunity. Candidates must demonstrate prior experience in HR, personnel administration, staffing, recruiting, or talent management within the military.

Description of Duties:

The selected intern will work alongside Aegis Aerospace HR and Recruiting professionals and will be integrated into day-to-day operations. The internship emphasizes practical experience, mentorship, and direct involvement in recruiting and HR processes.

The intern will:
  • Support full-cycle recruiting activities including resume review, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications
  • Assist with sourcing candidates through job boards, referrals, and internal systems
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and external partners
  • Maintain accurate candidate records within the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Assist with onboarding documentation and new hire coordination
  • Support HR administrative tasks including personnel file maintenance and data tracking
  • Learn and apply federal contractor and compliance considerations relevant to HR and recruiting
  • Participate in recruiting strategy discussions and workforce planning support
  • Provide professional, timely communication to candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a current active-duty U.S. service member within 365-180 days of separation or retirement
  • Must meet all eligibility requirements of the DoD SkillBridge program and obtain command approval prior to start date
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have prior military experience in Human Resources, personnel administration, recruiting, or talent management
  • Basic working knowledge of HR or recruiting processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a professional HR team

Desired Qualifications:
  • Military HR, personnel, or recruiting MOS/AFSC/Rate or equivalent billet experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience screening resumes or supporting hiring actions
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems or HR databases
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a civilian career in Human Resources or Talent Acquisition
  • Actively pursuing or planning to pursue education in Human Resources, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Interest in, or coursework toward, professional HR certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent
