Job Summary

KBR is seeking a senior systems engineer that has experience working with PATRIOT Ground Support Equipment (PGSE) hardware and applied US Military standards. Candidates must possess relevant engineering experience in the development and fielding of Military Ground or Air Defense Systems. The engineer in this role will be part of senior engineering staff supporting the Program Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires - Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. This candidate will be responsible for shaping and directing future engineering concepts and current efforts to meet warfighter and Army Acquisition objectives in an ever-changing threat landscape. This role is critical for ensuring USG success in fielding upgrades and modernization at the highest systems engineering level for the PGSE program.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • The senior systems engineer selected will lead obsolescence mitigation strategies, new technology integration, and capability and requirements changes.
  • The candidate will further support these efforts by reviewing new and existing system requirements and corresponding technical data.
  • They will develop studies to consider requirements impacts, alternative courses of action, and analyses to reduce risk and facilitate solution down-selection.
  • The senior engineer will be responsible for creating and/or reviewing technical drawings, specifications, digital engineering models, and software capability updates.
  • They will lead and brief meetings including OEMs, other vendors, foreign military program partners, and USG stakeholders to refine designs, provide guidance to meet requirements, synchronize software and hardware updates, maintain and deconflict schedules, and mitigate integration issues.
  • This role requires an engineer that will also review test objectives, witness testing, and assess the validation and verification of software and hardware requirements.
  • They will be responsible for analyzing test results and briefing high-confidence fielding recommendations to the USG.
  • This candidate will also aid PGSE to coordinate with other Product Offices, acting as a liaison to align integration programs and product modifications.


Basic Qualifications
  • Certified undergraduate engineering degree in electrical, mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in US Dept. of War Air and Missile Defense systems engineering roles
  • U.S. Citizen with active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain this level of clearance


Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified master's degree in systems engineering
  • Proficient at interpreting mechanical and electrical technical drawings and military engineering specifications
  • 5 years designing and reviewing military system requirements
  • 5 years in roles responsible for providing technical briefings and guidance to US Government customers and other team members
  • Experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo or Magic Draw. Demonstrate past modeling of requirements and systems in MBSE environments
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of Army Acquisition efforts and how they flow down to a Product's Systems Engineering Team
  • History coordinating and supporting Interagency Defense Efforts
  • Background in Ground Support Equipment hardware and systems design with an emphasis on application of existing system requirements to modifications and new requirements
  • Experience briefing technical content to external customers
  • Technical Understanding of the PATRIOT Air and Missile Defense System including, requirements, configurations, software builds, capabilities, and foreign partner programs
